What follows are some supporting documents referring to the recent results of the negotiations between the United States of America and the European Union, on the optimisation of the common modulation in L1 band.

The Working Group A (WGA), which was created after the June 2004 signature of the EU-US "Agreement on the Promotion, Provision and Use of Galileo and GPS Satellite-Based Navigation Systems and Related Applications", recommended on the 22nd March 2006 a jointly-optimized common Power Spectral Density for Galileo Open Service (OS) and GPS L1C signals in L1 band, denoted as Modified Binary Offset Carrier (MBOC).

The following Joint Statement, signed by the Heads of both the EU and US delegations, defines the way forward towards the possible implementation of this common modulation.
